This is a lesson that can be used
successfully with children in Grade 1 and up!
I have taught this lesson with Cray-Pas; crayons and
watercolors.
Gray or brown construction paper work well with this lesson. Of
course, experiment with the background colors!

There are many variations that can be used,
I will
list just a few examples below:
- Use twisted squares of
tissue paper for the leaves instead of drawing them in
|
- Incorporate a lesson on
different types of tree bark... a white birch tree looks
great in this lesson!
|
- Have the students do 4
drawings, one for each season, showing how the tree will
look different dependent upon the season.
